1. About These Terms

These terms apply to the Japaneezy app, its learning content, and related services (together, “Japaneezy”). They form an agreement between you and Valentyna Polienova (“we”, “us”, or “our”). Our contact details appear in section 13.

By accepting these terms or using Japaneezy, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Japaneezy. You must be legally able to enter this agreement or have a parent or legal guardian agree on your behalf where local law permits. Purchases require authorization from the person responsible for the payment account.

2. Your License and Account

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Japaneezy for your personal learning, subject to these terms. We and our licensors retain ownership of the app and its content. Open-source software and third-party learning materials remain subject to their respective licenses and notices.

Keep your account information accurate and your sign-in credentials secure. Tell us if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission. Some features need an account, an internet connection, or an active subscription. Your internet or mobile provider may charge for data use.

3. Acceptable Use

Do not use Japaneezy to break the law, infringe another person’s rights, upload malicious files, access someone else’s account, disrupt the service, or bypass payment or security controls. Do not resell the service or distribute our content without permission. Restrictions on copying, modifying, or reverse engineering the app apply only where permitted by law and do not override applicable open-source licenses.

4. Learning Content and Materials You Provide

Japaneezy supports Japanese study through features such as vocabulary packs, kanji practice, and quizzes. Some features use automated tools to create or suggest words, readings, translations, and explanations. These results may contain mistakes. Check information before relying on it. We do not promise a particular level of fluency, exam result, or learning outcome.

You keep any rights you hold in text, photos, files, and other materials you provide. Only submit materials you are entitled to use. You give us permission to store, process, and display those materials, and to use service providers for those purposes, only as needed to provide the features you request. This permission does not transfer ownership of your materials. Data handling and retention are described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Japaneezy Pro Subscriptions

Japaneezy Pro provides the paid features described on the subscription screen, which may include word suggestions, word-pack creation, and use without ads. Available plans include monthly and yearly subscriptions. The selected plan’s benefits, billing period, price, and any usage limits are shown before purchase. A yearly plan is billed for the full year, even if a monthly equivalent is also shown.

Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. Your purchase is processed by the store through which you subscribe. Prices and available offers may vary by country, currency, and eligibility; the offer shown at purchase applies to your subscription.

Apple App Store purchases

Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm a purchase, unless the confirmed offer starts with a free trial or a later billing date. Your subscription automatically renews unless you turn off renewal at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Apple charges your account for renewal within the 24 hours before that period ends, at the renewal price applicable to your plan.

If you qualify for a free trial or introductory offer, its duration and the price that follows it are shown before you subscribe. The subscription becomes a paid, automatically renewing subscription when the offer ends unless you cancel in time. To avoid being charged after a free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Any unused trial time may be lost when you purchase a subscription, as specified by the offer and Apple’s rules.

Google Play purchases

Google Play handles payment, renewal, offers, and cancellation for subscriptions purchased through Google Play. The purchase confirmation and Google Play’s terms specify the applicable billing details.

Cancellation and access

Canceling stops future renewals. Paid access normally continues until the end of the paid period, subject to refunds and applicable store rules. A canceled free trial may end immediately under the store’s rules. Deleting the app or your Japaneezy account does not cancel a store subscription; cancel it with the store as well.

You can use Restore purchase in Japaneezy to recover an eligible active subscription using the store account that purchased it. Sign in to the associated Japaneezy account where required. Contact us if restoration fails. Subscription access is available on your supported devices where Japaneezy is available, subject to account verification and store rules.

Price changes and refunds

Subscription price changes follow applicable law and the store’s notification and consent requirements. You can cancel before a change takes effect.

For Apple purchase refunds, submit a request at reportaproblem.apple.com. For Google Play purchases, use Google Play’s refund process. Eligibility is determined under applicable law and the store’s rules. These terms do not remove any right to a refund, withdrawal, or other remedy provided by law, or our responsibility where the law requires us to provide a remedy.

6. Koi and Separate Purchases

Koi are virtual credits used for eligible items within Japaneezy, such as word packs. They are not money, cannot be withdrawn as cash, and cannot be sold or transferred outside features we expressly provide. A separate koi purchase is a one-time purchase, not an automatically renewing subscription. The purchase screen identifies what is included. Subscriptions do not include separately priced items unless the offer expressly says so. Applicable consumer rights and store refund rules still apply.

7. Privacy and Third-Party Services

These terms do not replace that policy or any consent required by law. When using Japaneezy, comply with applicable third-party agreements, including the terms of your app store and network provider.

8. Changes, Suspension, and Ending Use

We may update Japaneezy to fix problems, maintain security, or change features. If a change materially reduces a paid service, we will provide notice and any cancellation or other remedy required by law. We will not use these terms to remove rights to content or services you have already purchased contrary to applicable law or store rules.

We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address a serious breach of these terms, fraud, a security threat, or a legal requirement. Where practical and lawful, we will explain the reason and allow you to resolve the issue. Contact us if you believe a restriction is mistaken. Restrictions do not remove your legal rights to a remedy.

You may stop using Japaneezy at any time. Cancel any active store subscription separately. Obligations that by their nature continue after use ends, including payment obligations already incurred and ownership provisions, remain in effect.

9. Availability, Warranties, and Liability

We aim to keep Japaneezy available and accurate, but outages and errors can occur. Except for promises expressly made to you and rights that cannot legally be excluded, the service is provided as available, without a guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect losses or losses from business use of this personal learning service. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Mandatory consumer warranties and remedies remain available.

10. Additional Terms for Apple Users

This agreement is with us, not Apple. We are responsible for Japaneezy and its content, including any maintenance, support, and warranties owed to you. Apple owes no maintenance or support.

On Apple devices, your non-transferable license covers Apple-branded products you own or control under Apple’s Usage Rules, including permitted use through Family Sharing or volume purchasing. These terms do not override the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. Sharing a subscription depends on that subscription’s eligibility.

If the app breaches an applicable warranty, notify Apple for a refund of the app’s purchase price. To the extent lawful, Apple owes no further warranty remedy; we bear the remaining warranty-related claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses.

We handle your and third parties’ app-related claims, including product liability, regulatory compliance, consumer protection, and privacy claims. For claims that the app or your possession or use infringes intellectual property, we alone investigate, defend, settle, and discharge the claim.

You confirm that you are not in a country under a U.S. government embargo or designated by that government as supporting terrorism, and are not on a U.S. prohibited or restricted-party list.

Apple and its subsidiaries benefit from this agreement as third parties. When you accept it, Apple gains and is deemed to accept the right to enforce it against you.

11. Applicable Law and Disputes

Applicable law determines the law and courts that govern this agreement. Nothing here takes away mandatory consumer protections, access to a competent court, or any right to bring a claim where you live. You may contact us to seek a resolution, but doing so is not a condition of exercising your legal rights.

If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

12. Updates to These Terms

We may revise these terms to reflect changes to the service or legal requirements. We will publish the updated terms with an effective date and give advance notice of material changes where required. Changes do not apply retroactively. We will request agreement where required by law. If you do not accept a change, you may stop using the service and cancel renewal, without losing any remedy available under applicable law.
